Narendra Singh Negi: A singer and a fighter…..
We are blessed to have a person like Mr. Narendra Singh Negi , he is one of the best singer we have today. He was born on 12th August 1949 in Pauri, Uttarakhand . He was the owner of a melodious voice which made his identity across the globe. As his Garhwali songs were too much popular that he was called from foreign for his shows. He has sung over 1000 song!!!. He is the person who made replenish the Garhwali language in the form of his  songs. His songs allows the hearer to visualize the picture of Garhwal.
He was not only a singer and composer but he was also a writer whose 3 books have been published. They are:-
- Kuch Kandi( a cane bucket used to carry staple food of Garhwal)
- Gaadiyoun Ki Ganga , Saniyoun ka Samudar( Ganges of imagination and sea of lust)
- Muth Boit ki Rakh(tighten your arms and be ready)
His novels reveals a lot about Uttarakhand’s culture and tradition. His songs and books also raise voice for the problems faced by the people of Garhwal.
But recently he was admitted to CMI hospital because of his sudden chest pain. Then he was referred to Maxx hospital when his condition became little worse. On 28th JUNE 2017, when most of us were living peaceful and busy with our lives this great personality was fighting with death. His fans gathered around hospital and prayed for his betterment. However doctors told that he had a HEART ATTACK.
Lets pray for him. We have to do this for the person who re-energized our Garhwali tradition and customs.
